"Brooke" - Available

Are you looking for a dog that:
-Is friendly and loves people?
-Loves other dogs?
-Is great with cats?
-Has started obedience training
-Likes to play?
-Is not too big and not too small?
-Is young, but not a baby?
-Has unique markings?

Look no further!

Brooke is a super fun 1 year old Pit Bull Terrier mix, named after Brooke Shields because of her crazy eyebrow. She is a petite little girlie, weighing in at about 40 pounds. She was pulled from Hillsborough County Animal Services, where she was turned in as a "Stray."

Her overall personality is very bubbly and bouncy. She has never met a stranger and loves to get out and meet new friends. We have taken her to adoption events and dog-friendly restuarants, and she loves every minute of it.

She is currently being fostered in a family that has a "pack" of dogs ranging from an 8 pound Chihuahua to a 100 pound Swiss Mountain Dog. Brooke gets along perfectly with them. She has only ever had a problem with unaltered male dogs (she is a strict advocate of Spaying & Neutering!)

Brooke has started her obedience training. She knows to Sit and Lay Down, but her "wigglyness" is making Stay training a challenge. She is getting there though! We are going to start following the Training Levels with her so it will be easy for her adoptive family to pick up where we leave off. She is crate trained and is working on housetraining. She can be mouthy, which is getting better with time and patience.

BLOGGER'S NOTE:  I am Brooke's foster "mom" and am always willing to answer questions you may have about her. She is a great little dog that is waiting for her forever family to find her.

If you are interested in adopting Brooke, please contact Adoptions@RugazRescue.com for more information.

UPDATE 4/2/11: Here is a short little video of Brooke with our cat, Rooney. As you can see, she is not interested in him at all - except to give him kisses!
